Causes of Disunity. One of the issues covered in Surah al Hujurat is
that of the harmony and brotherhood that Allah has created amongst the
believers. We are given an explanation of how this brotherhood is to be
maintained, cultivated and nurtured and thus developed to its full
potential. We are taught how to achieve this by way of an explanation
of the diseases that can cause friction and disunity amongst the
believers and thus need to be avoided. We are also given the remedies
for such ailments and shown what can be achieved by their application.
